Victoria Newmyer | Midlife Quilter

Victoria Newmyer, the Midlife Quilter has been quilting since 2019, when she decided to buy herself a sewing machine for her 40th birthday. Buying that machine was a gamble she took on herself. Ever since she was a child, She has been fascinated by sewing and quilting. However, she didn’t have anyone to teach her. After leaving her corporate job as an HR director to stay home with her children, she decided it was finally time to take that leap of faith and try to teach herself as she fell in love with quilting wholeheartedly. To her, quilting is an act of love. “We show love to ourselves when we honor our need to create, and we show love to others when we gift a handmade quilt”. “Quilting has not only taught me so much about myself, it has created new dreams to follow. I’ve carved out a little corner of Instagram where I share my work, make new quilting friends and–hopefully—inspire others to take a chance on themselves.” As the famous ballerina, Misty Copeland, says, “You can start late, look different, be uncertain, and still succeed.” Victoria Newmyer curated a Sewcialite fat quarter bundle for Art Gallery Fabrics.
